Glen Brodeur

Glen R. Brodeur was born in Putnam Connecticut, the son of the late Robert Brodeur and Jeannie (Coderre) Brodeur Pratt. An accomplished musician, Glen played the bass since the age of 14. He played nationally in the 70s and 80s with Freddie Hart and the Heartbeats and in the Worcester, Massachusetts area for 35 years with the John Penny Band. Glen was dubbed the man with the golden voice in New England. Over the years, he has won several awards including being inducted into the Massachusetts Country Music Awards Association Hall of Fame in 2009 for Male Vocalist and was named Male Entertainer of the Year in 2013. He continued to play locally, most recently with Frank Caruso & the Countrymen. He also enjoyed standing in with many local country bands all over New England.

Glen enjoyed spending time flying small, experimental aircraft and was a member of the E.A.A. Organization. For the past 32 years, he worked for Numa Tool in Thompson, CT as a Quality Control Supervisor, retiring in 2016 due to illness. He also was a member of the Wyoming Machinery Company for 4 years.

Sadly, Glen passed away peacefully Monday, December 5th 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Renee T. Brodeur; two sons, Geoffrey G. Brodeur and Jason R. Brodeur; a sister, Debra Randolph; and several other family members.
